how it works

every card is engraved to order. you type what goes on it, we build the file, engrave it in metal, and ship it. here's the whole thing, start to finish.

1. pick a card

• airport layout card · $24. any field. runways to scale from faa survey data, the identifier, the name, the frequencies. the 3,000-ft grass strip where you soloed counts.
• checkride card · $24. one milestone on the front: your checkride field, the rating, your name, the date. the back carries the fly more mark, with your cfi's name if you want it there.
• airline card · $39. any airline, any aircraft, drawn as a blueprint with the carrier's mark. add a second aircraft on the back for $26.
• reference cards · $24. the stuff you memorized, in your flight bag: squawk codes, fuel reserves, vfr altitudes, imsafe, pave, arrow, the frequencies to know.

three cards are $72 and ship free anywhere in the world.

2. make it yours

on the product page the card shows both sides. tap a side to see its options, and the preview redraws as you type. what you see there is what gets engraved.

front

• extra frequency · +$3. one more line under the standard block. unicom, ctaf, approach, whatever you actually dial.
• taxiway + apron · +$5. the full ground layout, every taxiway and apron, to scale.

back (the fly more mark is on every card at no charge. pick one paid back if you want more)

• aircraft outline · +$5. your favorite aircraft as a line drawing, with the registration under it if you want. we've drawn about fifty types so far and add new ones to order.
• lost & found back · +$9. "if found, please return to" with your name, address, phone and email. share only what you want.
• back art + registration · +$9. tell us what to engrave on the back and we draw it. a logo, a tower, an engine, a signature.
• training timeline · +$12. every rating and the date you passed it, first solo to cfii, in one column on the back. type the dates, we set the rest.

which card? one milestone goes on the checkride card's front. the whole run goes on the training timeline back. an airport card with a timeline back is the whole story on one piece of metal.

3. we build it, you approve it

for airport and checkride cards the live preview on the product page is the proof. if we have to draw something new, an aircraft we haven't drawn yet, custom back art, a logo, we email a proof first. nothing gets engraved until you say go.

want to change something after ordering? before we engrave it, yes. reply to your order confirmation with the change.

4. engraved and shipped

• made to order in castle rock, colorado. usually 1 to 2 days to make. if we're away, the bar at the top of the store shows the ship date.
• us orders ship usps, free, and land in 3 to 5 business days. you get tracking when it leaves.
• international orders show shipping, duties and taxes at checkout. 3 or more cards ship free worldwide.

the card itself

• 2.125" x 3.37" anodized aluminum, wallet size. the same footprint as a credit card.
• white engraving on matte black. it's cut into the anodizing, so it doesn't wear off.
• pre-drilled hole and a gun-metal key ring, included.

schools, clubs, crews

10 or more cards: 25% off. 20 or more: 35%. 50 or more: 40%. the discount covers the whole card, add-ons included. if every card has a different name on it, don't fight the cart. send us the list and we'll build the proofs and invoice it.

a few more questions

my airport is outside the us. we build it. the layout comes from the same survey data. frequencies are verified for the major hubs; for smaller fields, type the ones you use and we'll add them.

the frequencies changed since i trained there. we pull current data when we build the card. if you want the old ones, tell us in the notes.

is it a gift? most of them are. if you don't know their home field, the checkride card or an aircraft they love works just as well. or ask us, we've done this a few hundred times.

returns. personalized metal is hard to resell, so we'd rather get it right the first time. if something's wrong with what arrived, tell us and we'll fix it. the full policy is here.
